INTRODUCTION

Mark Coonrod and Brian Sims founded Blue Pike, Inc. in Pensacola, FL in 2004, after having worked together through various control system integration firms for many years.  Our complementary strengths, combining over 55 years of industry experience, make Blue Pike, Inc. an efficient, high value resource.

Blue Pike, Inc. provides top quality solutions to our customers' control system needs.  Over the last several years, we have concentrated our efforts on Emerson's state-of-the-art DeltaV, both migrations of legacy systems and new installations.  Whatever the scope of work, there are a number of points which guide our efforts and distinguish us from most other integration firms:

*A key to any successful relationship is clear communications.  A control system installation can be a very complicated and stressful undertaking.  We have the experience necessary to digest large amounts of data into understandable pieces.  We try to address even highly technical issues through simple and direct questions and answers.  Throughout the process, the customer knows exactly how work is progressing not just because of what we are saying, but because plant personnel are involved along with us.

*When working on a retro-fit, we want to understand how the existing system is wired, how it is configured, and how the operator interfaces with that platform.  While system documentation (P&IDs, motor elementaries, etc.) are important data sources, we have found that much of the most reliable information is actually contained in the existing system itself.  Our experience with, and understanding of, legacy control systems such as Rosemount System 3, Fisher PROVOX, and Bailey Infi-90 has been instrumental to our success.

*When working on a new installation, interaction with the process design team is critical. While those engineers fully understand the process dynamics and control relationships, they may not be aware of the capabilities of the DeltaV or the latest instrumentation/electrical practices. We close any gaps between the theoretical design and the actual operational implementation.

*We strive to make start-up as smooth as possible.  We attempt to provide a complete package for acceptance prior to beginning check-out.  Leaving loose-ends to be resolved later often results in more difficult and costly solutions.  Simple simulations and a thorough factory acceptance test provide an opportunity to correct mistakes and make improvements in a relaxed, team-building environment.  We take pride in our work, and we want our customers to be proud the results that we achieve together.

*Once the process is running on the new control system, we still have much to offer.  We can provide remote troubleshooting and configuration assistance via telephone or network connection.  Our custom training classes and manuals for operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel have been well received.  We want to provide support for your system throughout its entire life-cycle.
